Nobody in my studio is competing with anybody, and there is no recital. We start with the music you actually want to play and build timing, coordination, technique, grooves, fills, reading and confidence from there.
You do not need a drum set at home to start, and I will tell you honestly what to buy and when so you do not waste money on gear.
